Christmas flowers in Barcelona
24 December to 6 January. We deliver in Barcelona and the towns around it, with VAT and delivery included in the price.
What it is
Christmas in Barcelona is longer than in most countries. The family dinner is on the evening of 24 December, Nochebuena; the 25th is a lunch, and in Catalonia so is the 26th, Sant Esteve, which is a public holiday here. Then the season carries on to 6 January, the day of the Three Kings, which is when children traditionally get their presents.
So if you are sending from abroad, you have more days to choose from than you might think: anything arriving between the last week of December and 6 January is a Christmas gift.
What people send
The Christmas plant here is the poinsettia — flor de Pascua in Spanish, ponsètia in Catalan. Red is the classic, and it is what people take to the house where they are invited for dinner. A bouquet or an arrangement in reds and greens does the same job if you would rather send cut flowers.
Before you order
Check the calendar before you choose a day. 25 and 26 December and 1 and 6 January are public holidays in Barcelona; the calendar on each product page only lets you pick the days we actually deliver.
For 24 December, order a few days ahead: everyone wants the morning.
